Tuition increase announced in letter to families

By Mast staff

Pacific Lutheran University has revealed how much its tuition and housing fees will go up by next year.

In a letter sent to PLU students’ families this week, President Loren J. Anderson wrote:

This is also the time of year when I report to you on actions taken by our Board of Regents to set tuition, room and meal charges for the upcoming year: Annual tuition will increase by $1,850 and room and meals by $370.

The Office of the President emailed a copy of the text to faculty members last Thursday morning.

Editor’s note: We are working on an article about the history of PLU’s tuition rates, with a comparison between PLU, the University of Puget Sound and the University of Washington’s Tacoma campus.
